We deliver the following services to partners dedicated to improving life conditions, education and health for communities and organizations.

Our approach

  1. Feasibility Assessments and Research. We go wherever the project is supposed to be delivered and implemented, and explore how these goals are achievable.

  2. Product Design - also called industrial design. This is where we design actual products that work well where they’re supposed to, delivering the user experience in the right context.

  3. Multimedia documentation - your organization already has a project, but needs exposure and visual documentation. Enticing videos, moving images and engaging visuals for your fundraiser. We can make your mission shine in the public eye.

  4. Graphic and Communication Design. We design everything 2D for print, screen and web.  Generally, this is anything visual that needs to communicate a message across multiple platforms about a project or its application.

  5. Seminars & Workshops on Co-creating and Design Process. We share our knowledge on design with students, groups and organizations. We identify how design can be used in your field, and where can it add value to your organization.

How we work

We aim to achieve lasting, durable results by partnering with organizations and community groups who seek to improve quality of life for underserved communities. We address needs such as access to health care, renewable food sources, education, water, energy, architecture and commerce. We focus our design process on methods of co-creation and collaboration. We believe that working directly with those most informed about the context of the problem is crucial to finding effective, measurable results.

Our methods include

PREPARATION > ACTION > REVIEW

Preparation

Partnering

We create partnerships between organizations who offer expertise and/or seed funding, with community groups based in the local region where needs are being addressed. This ensures cultural respect, conversation and a lateral relationship between parties.

Research & Identification

We conduct first hand research and feasibility studies with our partners to be as informed by measures as possible, and to base developments on culturally and socially appropriate information. In this phase we identify the specific issues and conditions, which define the project. This means that our team spends sufficient time in-field to understand the nuances and cultural aspects to bring a project to life. Ideally we research, develop, design and manufacture a product with the partner community in order to increase local capacity and stimulate the local economy.

Action

Co-creating Ideas

This process involves working with our partners and end users to develop innovative solutions specific to the needs and conditions of the user community. We facilitate this process through workshops where we engage community members in identifying hidden resources, and a range of ideas which fit the challenge in question.

Synthesis

Once a range of ideas have been explored we combine and reduce the concepts respective of key constraints, ultimately determining which direction is the most appropriate and effective.

Refining & Prototyping

The chosen solution is further refined, engineered and developed to become a feasible product or service. Various prototypes are brought to the next phase (testing and measuring) and back again, to further define in on the most suitable product solution.

Testing & Measuring

All results are tested, measured and reviewed prior to major rollouts or scaling. It is through rigorous testing that a design becomes innovative. Through trial, error and re-trial.

Further Refining

Innovations are further adjusted for improved performance, reduced cost and efficiency.

Rollout and Implementation

We assist in the system design of a rollout and management plan. Continued engagement in the implementation of the design solution allows for assistance with unforeseen problem solving, and mentoring.

Review

Assessment and Conclusions

We conclude this process by offering performance evaluations of the solution and system, independent reviews or audits and continued mentoring.

Next Steps

Certain solutions work well in scale and others do not. We can continue to work with our partners to enable scalability within a solution and begin the process of connecting parties who can feasibly scale an innovation.
